These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the use of services provided by Nordisk Kokkekunst Akademi, Dronningens gate 16, 0152 Oslo, Norway, email: [email protected], phone: +47 22 38 74 61 (“we”, “us”, “our”). By booking, purchasing, attending, or otherwise using any service offered by Nordisk Kokkekunst Akademi, the customer, participant, or other user (“you”, “your”) agrees to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not make a booking, attend a course, or use our services. These Terms apply to all services offered by Nordisk Kokkekunst Akademi, including but not limited to:

2. Scope of services

Nordisk Kokkekunst Akademi provides culinary education, workshops, demonstrations, private group sessions, corporate events, and related training activities. The exact content, duration, location, prerequisites, and price of each service are described in the relevant course description, booking confirmation, invoice, or event agreement.

We may adapt course content, recipes, teaching methods, ingredients, or instructors where reasonably necessary to improve quality, ensure safety, accommodate seasonal availability, or respond to operational needs. Any material changes that materially affect the service will be communicated in advance where practicable.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, our services are educational in nature and do not constitute professional catering, formal vocational certification, medical advice, or nutritional treatment. Any nutritional, allergen, or dietary information provided is for general informational purposes only.

3. User obligations and responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information when booking or participating in our services, including contact details, dietary restrictions, allergies, medical conditions relevant to participation, and any other information reasonably required for safe delivery of the service.

You are responsible for:

We reserve the right to refuse participation or remove any participant from a course or event if, in our reasonable opinion, the participant poses a safety risk, fails to comply with instructions, or behaves in a manner that disrupts the service or endangers others. In such cases, no refund will be due unless required by mandatory law.

4. Payment terms and conditions

Prices are stated in the relevant offer, booking page, invoice, or agreement and are inclusive or exclusive of taxes as indicated. Unless otherwise specified, payment is due in full at the time of booking or by the deadline stated on the invoice.

We may require advance payment, deposits, or pre-authorization for certain services, including private courses, group bookings, and corporate events. A booking is only confirmed once payment has been received or when we have expressly confirmed the reservation in writing.

If payment is not received by the due date, we may suspend or cancel the booking, charge reasonable reminder fees and collection costs to the extent permitted by law, and refuse participation until all outstanding amounts are settled.

Any bank charges, currency conversion fees, or payment processor fees incurred by you are your responsibility unless otherwise stated. We reserve the right to adjust prices at any time before a booking is confirmed. Confirmed bookings are subject to the price agreed at the time of confirmation, unless a pricing error is obvious and material.

5. Cancellation and refund policy

Cancellations must be made in writing by email to [email protected] unless a different cancellation method is stated in the booking confirmation.

Unless otherwise specified in the relevant course or event terms, the following cancellation rules apply:

For private group, corporate, and custom events, separate cancellation terms may apply and will be stated in the quotation or agreement. If no separate terms are stated, cancellations of such events are subject to the following default rules:

If we cancel a course or event, you will be offered either a refund of amounts paid for the cancelled service or, where reasonably possible, a rescheduled date or equivalent alternative service. We are not responsible for additional costs you may have incurred, such as travel or accommodation, unless mandatory law requires otherwise.

Refunds, where due, will be processed using the original payment method within a reasonable period after approval of the cancellation request.

6. Liability limitations

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Nordisk Kokkekunst Akademi shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profit, loss of business, loss of data, or loss of enjoyment, arising out of or in connection with the use of our services.

Our liability for direct damages is limited to the amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim, except where liability cannot be limited or excluded under mandatory law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

You acknowledge that cooking activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to cuts, burns, slips, allergic reactions, and equipment-related injuries. You participate at your own risk, subject to our duty to exercise reasonable care and maintain a safe learning environment.

We are not responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings brought to our premises or events, except where such loss or damage is caused by our gross negligence or wilful misconduct and liability cannot be excluded by law.
